Culture of Inquiry

Participated in a great presentation from Jeremy Shapiro about cultures of inquiry.  Very interested in what Jeremy had to say around preconceived ideas going into a study.  The story he told which was a true story from his father about the Jewish fellow that asked his father to conduct a study to prove that kosher meat was killed in more humane ways then any other way.  When Jeremy's father asked what he thought if the study showed that this may not be true about the animals, he was appalled that Jeremy's father would even suggest this.

Good point to keep this in mind as I move forward with research.

Here I sit at the end of unit 1 and contemplating what grade I would give myself on the first assignment in 502.  A lot of information to take into this old brain, so some of it may not have stuck very well, but I have a few more units to solidify my thoughts.  I think I still would give myself a fairly good grade, hehe! Well off to enjoy the last bit of the evening and hit the books again tomorrow!
